I just finished Marilyn's quilt Tuesday night. She was gracious enough to offer to let us use her home in Port Charlotte next week for our annual quilt retreat. She loves civil war quilts
but I figured she probably had a ton of civil war fabrics so I used Christmas fabrics and a civil war pattern to make her a holiday quilt. I think she liked it.
I would wish that at the end of my life when I stand before God I can say I used up all the talent you gave me.

FINALLY SOMETHING TO ADD
I can't believe I've had nothing to add for months. Couple of heath things bothering me this year and tax season really took a toll on me this year. Once you combine that with my FMQ juki breaking and having to wait for parts from Japan along with the new machine dying and having to be shipped back to GA to get repaired, I think I actually have quite a bit done. Here is one I finished in March. It's just a lap quilt I did with scraps. It went to a client I'me very fond of that was in the hospital for quite a while. I just send em where God says they need to go. This is before it was quilted but I didn't get an after picture.

NOT GETTING MUCH FINISHED
I haven't gotten much finished yet this year although I have several started and planned. Tax season and health issues have kept me busy but I'm working on some so when they are finished they will be posted. This is the one I have finished this year. I made this for my bed and finished it up the end of January. Right as I was putting the final binding stitches my son-in law told me about a co-worker who was going to miss her missions trip as she didn't have the funds to go. So I donated this quilt for her to raffle. I sold tickets, she sold more at her church and was able to raise $450. My friend Cindi won and I'll be delivering it tonight. It really is a beautiful quilt. I'll be making another for my bed. Opps I did finish one other and gave to a client that was in the hospital but was a rush finish and I didn't get a picture

RAFFLE ANY ONE?
Ok well not donating any quilts in 2013 lasted all of 9 days. My son-in-laws co-worker has been accepted to go on a missions trip in a couple of months and needs to raise money for her airfare. What better way than raffle a quilt.
Here is one I just finished so I donated it for her to raffle. If you know anyone interested raffle tickets are $2 each and I donated the funds to ship the quilt to the winner. It covers a queen size bed nicely and is all 100% quilt shop batiks and quilted using 30 wt. gold polyester. The reverse is black
Email if interested in tickets and pass along to your friends. Zhillslady1@yahoo.com.

MORE COMING SOON
Sorry I haven't been blogging much but my eyes have been acting up so I sew when I can but tend to ignore the computer more. I have a couple of round robins that I finally quilted and one I finished for myself so I'll be posting them soon. Watch for the pics.
