MARCH 2010 QUILT

I have several quilts "in progress" and can finally say I finished one. This is the first no buy quilt of 2010. The blocks are all orientals I've been collecting and the border is left over from another quilt. This quilt was made for a lady I met a couple of years ago. I don't see her often but she is struggling lately with things in life that are a bit overwhelming. As I was finishing the quilt I just felt the Lord led me to bless her with it. So I did just as a little reminder that He is always here when we need Him.

It's a Magic Tile done in orientals with gold grouting which I snuck out of my Christmas stash.

I'M TRYING IT AGAIN

Well after 3 quilt shows of purchases this year and a lot of money redecorating the house I've decided to try again. I'm going to try a quilting "no-buy year" from March 15, 2010 to March 15, 2011. Ok don't have a stroke on me here. I'm not saying I can't buy anything quilt wise but I'm going to try and severely limit it. I am going to try and see how many of the 2010 projects can be made with just what I have on hand. Obviously I have to be flexible enough to allow myself a piece here and there if it's needed to finish up a quilt or fabric for the backing as I don't keep that on hand. So if it's not on the back or batting inside I'lm going to try to live without it.

To keep myself motivated I'm going to post all my purchases here. You'll note I'm only posting purchases made after 3/15/10. The ones before that almost gave ME a stroke. So keep and eye out and keep me in line.
