MARCH - SOON TO COME

FEBRUARY ARRIVES

Here is my big project for tax season pay.  I finally had the house painted by Mike Apel Painting.   Instead of some windows with shutters and some not, we now have them all the same, no shutters.  Gone is the peach house with 3 different color window sills.  We said good bye to a peach house with tan siding on the add on.  Now I have one house painted a beautiful taupe with smokey chocolate trim.   It looks awesome with the green roof.  The front steps are going to be black and the front door will have a black with white trim awning.  Hope to do those last 2 things next week.  Here are some before and afters.  I have been truly blessed, that is for sure.

FRONT YARD TOUCH UP

Well after all that backyard renovation, the front yard needed a little touch up.  Thank you Lord for tax season over time pay.  I added a new outdoor rug and chair cushions for the front cabana.  The sheets are for the cats.

LITTLE DOWN TIME

Here's poor Matt finally getting a little rest.  He does so much work for me.

THE FINISHED PRODUCT

The backyard is finished, or at least as much as possible until I have time to lay the rest of the mulch.  Matt finished up my grill area, built me a fire pit and seating area and even added in an outside shower for when you're working in the yard.  Here are some finished pictures.  The white fencing behind the chairs not only made the seating area a little more fancy but it blocked the opening in the gate.  I cannot even remember how many bags of rubber mulch this took.

THE TUB PATIO IS READY

Here's Robert finishing up the paver patio for the tub.    Obviously those plants will have to revitalize or be replaced.

JANUARY AND BACKYARD RENOVATIONS GET SERIOUS

I'll condense this so I don't have 15 posts on remodeling the backyard.  Matt has been such a blessing to me.  He added a bamboo fence over my existing chain link so not only do you have the drab ugly fence but no more trashy neighbors, dirty alley, etc.  I wish I had bought the fence years ago.  He also built me a grill area, removed all the old mulch and laid down the rubber mulch.   Here's some pictures of hte new fencing and the grill area before and after.

SO BEGINS THE HOT TUB PREP

Here's is Robert building the hot tub pad for me.

MY CHRISTMAS PAY IT FORWARD

I decided instead of getting cards from the Christmas tree at the post office, I wanted to do for a local family that I knew would enjoy it.   There's a very nice lady across the street with two amazing young boys.  We got to know them better at Thanksgiving and mom was gracious enough to allow me to buy them bikes for Christmas.  All the boys know is they came from Santa.   Mom say they loved them.  Here's Robert who was kind enough to help me go get them and bring them home.

Backyard Renovations

As the year progressed I realized I never use my backyard.  So I decided as a gift to myself ,  would buy me a hot tub for Christmas, so I did.  It was to arrive January 10 so the backyard needed to be redone.  I hate that service alley and nasty people behind me so I consulted my go to guy, Matt Carter and he did some amazing work for me.   Here's the little bit that I did.  The side fence with the climbers got way out of hand so I cleaned them off completely.  Here's before and after including Shannon and Little Dog

LITTLE DOG

Just some pictures of Azeroth at Christmas.  I just love that little dog.

MY WHITE CHRISTMAS TREE

Seems like old news to update about Christmas but since I missed posting here it is.  I love a white tree.

MY MISSED RAMBLINGS FOR DECEMBER

So December I decided to learn golf.  I guess you reach a certain age and think you need a new hobby.  I still quilt but after only 2 few trips to the range and 1 game of golf, I knew I loved it.   I played my first game on 12/13/14.  LOL.  Here's a picture of my new callaway driver and my driver cover.  Thought he'd bring me good luck but no so much.. HA HA

OH MY GOODNESS

I promised myself I would get better at my blogging and I got worse.  I cannot believe last I was here was December.  I have vowed to myself that I will update at least once a week.  Not sure why I blog but I have this fantasy that after I'm gone Shannon or someone might be interested in what interested me or made me tick.  Who knows.   So here I am to post some updates.  Sorry it seems there will be quite a bit to cover 3 months.
