Well after 3 quilt shows of purchases this year and a lot of money redecorating the house I've decided to try again. I'm going to try a quilting "no-buy year" from March 15, 2010 to March 15, 2011. Ok don't have a stroke on me here. I'm not saying I can't buy anything quilt wise but I'm going to try and severely limit it. I am going to try and see how many of the 2010 projects can be made with just what I have on hand. Obviously I have to be flexible enough to allow myself a piece here and there if it's needed to finish up a quilt or fabric for the backing as I don't keep that on hand. So if it's not on the back or batting inside I'lm going to try to live without it.
To keep myself motivated I'm going to post all my purchases here. You'll note I'm only posting purchases made after 3/15/10. The ones before that almost gave ME a stroke. So keep and eye out and keep me in line.
Me too! As a kid I loved to play Canasta and go out with a concealed hand, but I don’t fancy going to the great beyond with a big stash. I am actually right now quilting a king size and the backing is all orphaned squares, it looks weird, but so what. One exception…. The Chicago Quilt Show in April. I figure gadgets don’t count.
