I would wish that at the end of my life when I stand before God I can say I used up all the talent you gave me.

Shop Sample #2
This is the tile one I did as a shop sample for Inspire in Plant City. Colors aren't my usual style but hte ladies had this pretty line of fabric they wanted to showcase. If you love pink this is for you.
FINALLY SOMETHING IS DONE
Those few of you that follow my blog probably wonder if I've finished anything since the ALS quilts back in July. I was beginning to think I never would then I checked here and I did finsh a few. The pink & white swap quilt and the veggie tiles for my table are finished and posted. I also managed to piece a couple of tops as samples for the new quilt shop in Plant City. Here's the bento box I did for a shop sample. Although it's not quilted I count it as done because I'm not quilting the samples. They'll have to handle that on their own. I really liked this pattern after I did that one for ALS.

I SHOULD HAVE STAYED WITH WHAT I LIKE
It was bound to happen sooner or later - here is my first trash can quilt. It broke my heart to turn this over to the cat for a bed cause as my friends will tell you, I treasure my batiks and this used a lot of them. I even splurged and used $10 yard fabric for the backing which I never do. Then I finally had time to quilt one of 4 or 5 waiting in the pile. Every time I quilt one I think about people saying "you always meander", you always do the leaves and hearts, you need to do other stuff". I never listen to it because I like doing a meander and I like the freehand hearts and leaves. So I pinned this on and couldn't wait to get it done for my friend Kerry. At the last minute I decided mabe I should try one of my template designs.
What a disaster. I was using a new thread and it broke and broke and broke and each time left knotted thread all over the back. After cutting it all out nothing in the pattern would line up right again. If only I had done the meander I planned I could have stopped and started anyway and blended in the pattern after the fabric shifted from all the pulling and prodding. Well live and learn. Stick with what u like. I refuse to give a quilt that isn't the best I can do so this will be recycled into a kitty bed.

VEGGIE TABLE QUILT
As you know I simply love the Magic Tile quilt pattern so when I saw these veggies I knew I had to make one for my kitchen table. Here is it finished and airing out on the clothesline.
My kitchen is all black granite, black and stainless appliances and beige walls so this made everything so much brighter. I just love the orange grout.

FINALLY COUPLE OF PICS
Here is a wall hanging I made my friend Jean at her kids request. She was retiring in September and her kids wanted a tree of life quilt for her new camper. Designing quilts isn't my strong point but she loved it and thats all that matters. She has so much pride when she tells people "my kids had it made for me".
