Northern Lights Bargello Started

I've started my bargello but I just don't think the colors are gong to be vibrant enough for me.  It may turn up on my sale page.  This is the arrangement I was trying to match.

Just some close ups of the fabrics.  I love batiks

Here is the latest quilt I finished.  It was a wedding gift and turned out the largest quilt I've made.  85 x 105 total.  I wish I could have gotten a better picture before it was gifted but there was no place to lay it out.  This picture is on a queen bed.   The pattern is called Shadow Box.

2 New Cousins

Clinton's 2 daughters are just the nicest ladies.  Alayanna came to meet us but her sister lives in GA.  Here are the quilts I made for them.   The peacock was made to hang on the wall in her sisters peacock room.

New Uncle Clinton

My dad's brother is Clinton.  What a warm, sweet and charming man.    Couldn't wait to write him as soon as I got home.  Here is his batik log cabin.

2 New Aunts

These 2 were for the other aunts, Phayla and Maxine.  Both such warm, pleasant ladies.   Very welcoming.

Quilts for Family

Part of our vacation was to meet my dad's family.  I have never seen him since I was 3 so was a little worried about meeting family that never knew you existed.  They were simply awesome.  Can't wait to keep in touch.  Here are the 2 quilts for my Aunt Bonnie and husband Jack.  Same pattern just different stitching.

Debbie meets Salvage Dawg

While we were on vacation Debbie got to visit the place from her favorite TV show, Salvage Dawgs.  Just so happened big dog Mike was there and she got a picture.  She was in heaven to say the least.

Visiting Ohio

May was an awesome month.  Debbie and I made the trip to Ohio to meet my newly found sister.  Jill and her hubby Mark turned out to be some of the sweetest people you could hope to know.  To find out that you are related to her is nothing short of a blessing.  Isn't she just cute as a bug.

Secretary's Day

Just wanted to post my flowers.

SEWING ROOM REDO

Here's the pictures of the newly laid out room.

APRIL AND MY NEW LONG ARM

After a lot of decision making I decided to bite the bullet and purchase the new Juki sit down long arm.  I was discouraged as it needs a software update before I can begin using it but here's it's pictures as it arrived and again set up.

March Gun Class

In March I did get an opportunity to attend a tactical gun class.  I learned a lot and here's some goodies Matt bought me for the class.

UPDATES FOR MARCH

Unfortunately March started crunch time for taxes so not a lot to blog about except work.   Same old same old on taxes.  Nature of the beast.  We did have an awesome Easter with our combined Edwards, Anderson and Carter family.  Here's a cake I made for the kids.

MARCH - SOON TO COME

FEBRUARY ARRIVES

Here is my big project for tax season pay.  I finally had the house painted by Mike Apel Painting.   Instead of some windows with shutters and some not, we now have them all the same, no shutters.  Gone is the peach house with 3 different color window sills.  We said good bye to a peach house with tan siding on the add on.  Now I have one house painted a beautiful taupe with smokey chocolate trim.   It looks awesome with the green roof.  The front steps are going to be black and the front door will have a black with white trim awning.  Hope to do those last 2 things next week.  Here are some before and afters.  I have been truly blessed, that is for sure.

FRONT YARD TOUCH UP

Well after all that backyard renovation, the front yard needed a little touch up.  Thank you Lord for tax season over time pay.  I added a new outdoor rug and chair cushions for the front cabana.  The sheets are for the cats.

LITTLE DOWN TIME

Here's poor Matt finally getting a little rest.  He does so much work for me.

THE FINISHED PRODUCT

The backyard is finished, or at least as much as possible until I have time to lay the rest of the mulch.  Matt finished up my grill area, built me a fire pit and seating area and even added in an outside shower for when you're working in the yard.  Here are some finished pictures.  The white fencing behind the chairs not only made the seating area a little more fancy but it blocked the opening in the gate.  I cannot even remember how many bags of rubber mulch this took.
